Geometry Help Needed

I'm really bad in Geometry. Can anyone recommend good books about geometry? Or any tips to be good in it?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

@敬全 钟 Ok thanks...so cool you can get into Malaysia's top 60. Is the training camp students selected from omk or another selection test? For me, omk is not easy...hard! :'( Here, can i ask an omk question (2011)?Question: Prove that any triangle can be cut into six similar triangles.(Your proof must be valid for all types of triangle but not a specific type only.) Thanks:-)

@A Former Brilliant Member Draw all three medians from each vertex to the opposite side. This is because if the triangle split by medians then the two parts will have the same area since their base length and height is the same. (Maybe more things are needed to add in....actually I was stumped when i was in form 1...)

@敬全 钟 How do we know that the corresponding angles of triangles after being cut by median is the same? Because they ought to be similar...

What do you mean by"More things" need to add in? I'm curious. ..

I'm in form 1...stumped too...:-P juz kidding...Btw, thanks.

To learn all the basics of geometry, you should read Euclid's Elements. It is quite insightful.
