Good luck to MATHCOUNTS National Competitors!

It might be a little early for this, but good luck to everybody competing at National MATHCOUNTS! Especially Daniel Liu, who I know will destroy the competition! Good luck in the Countdown, especially! Don't do what Daniel Chiu did! Also, congrats to Akshaj Kadaveru and Franklyn Wang from Virginia (my state). They both did fantastically at States and last year got 8th and 11th, respectively. To all three of you guys, I issue warnings: watch out for Colin Tang from Washington and Hongyi Chen from Colorado! Also, don't panic in the Countdown round, it's better to solve the problem before you answer (it would seem obvious, but sometimes you freak out and guess three seconds after the problem pops up). Do as well as you can on the Target, because they count for the most. Also, always READ THE PROBLEM (especially the Sprint Round). It's a really good idea to read it a minimum of three times. It will cost four or five minutes, but in the end, but it will save you a lot of wrong answers and time spent having to re-do it. Pretty much, do as well as you can. Unfortunately, I won't be joining you guys at Nationals this year... but next year for sure :( Anyways, everybody wish these people the best of luck! And, if anybody else is going to Nationals as well, let me know! :D

Dude, you've never met me then. I've watched every single Countdown round since 2005 at least three times, analyzed every competitor and done background checks. I'm in personal correspondence with a couple of executives who I get scores from, so when I say you're going to make it to the Countdown round, you're going to make it to the Countdown round. Remember, I've already analyzed all your competition and looked at their previous awards. Just follow my tips, and you'll be golden. Start training hard NOW! It's good to start one month prior, and build in intensity. :D

Advice: try to improve yourself, and not others. Why do you care about some random people from 2005? There's no point. Just care about yourself, or else you'll waste so much time and not get that much better.

Aww...how I wish Singapore had more resources and stuff like the USA to host this sort of competition... It seems awesome...

I met Colin Tang last year in the WMTC(World Mathematics Team Championship)in Beijing,China.Besides him and me,all the gold medalists were from China :(

Woah dude. How do I sign up? :D

I'm not very sure about the registration process for the US.The WMTC is relatively new,it was founded in 2010 so it might not be easy to find the organizers.The official website is here.If you're planning to go,watch out for the Chinese competitors :) Out of ~80 teams last year,~60 were Chinese.

I know! For the first like, 5 matches, the lower ranked person won! The freaking semifinals were 12th place, 11th, 10th, and 1st! It was the first time in MATHCOUNTS history! :O

I wish I knew what happened in MATHCOUNTS.

No, it was because the results for written were unexpected.

No, the written results were unanticipated. The 12, 11, 10, 1 is kinda usual; the only ever 1vs2 was last year i think.

Has anyone heard of Robin Park (Yoo-bin Park) from Virginia? I remember he got some high rank in Nationals in 2011 and 2012. He used to go to the same middle school as me.
