Hopefully this works out, and the research clears the "significant hurdles ahead." I feel like I always hear that they are close and then they aren't.

They say even if it works, it is years away from being used on humans. This is an article I found telling how anti-viral drugs work.

I think the one they found not only prevents the virus from replicating but also stops it from attacking the immune system.
