This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Firstly, you got my name wrong. But that's ok, people always get it wrong the first time. Also, You could have "@" tagged me so that I could have seen this sooner, you can thank Agnishom for that.

So, you just passed out of 10th.. I don't think I'm the "best possible guy" to be giving tips, but I'll do my best. You have a lot of time, make sure you use it well. This doesn't mean that you have to slog 12 hrs a day, do consistent work throughout the time you have. It is difficult to understand the importance of this but take it from me, you will realize this when you are where I am.

As for books, It's all the same. Physics HC verma and Dc Pandey, Inorganic chemistry: OP tandon, physical chemistry: rc Mukherjee, organic chemistry problems:Himanshu pandey. Math theory:rd sharma for JEE math questions: cengage or arihant question bank.

Remember that you have to strengthen your concepts. You have enough time to master everything, so don't feel demotivated even if you find a few topics difficult. Teachers play a very important role too, getting a good teacher who can make you understand really well is something that can help you big time. There is one workaround: If you are one of those rare people who like to learn themselves, then you are lucky, as you can teach yourself and not be dependent on teachers. Attempt competitive exams like RMO, NSEP, NSEC, KVPY etc. These exams provide an opportunity for you to find out your strengths and interests. They have really helped me in terms of problem solving abilities and exam temperament. Be open to new ideas and career options, JEE is not the ultimate thing. Of course, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do your best in it. I wish you all the best for the future!
