Ever have been stuck on problems like, in how many ways can a mouse go from a to b on a 5 by 3 grid, only going right or up? here's how you do it: no matter what you do, you have to go 5 sideways, and 3 up to reach your destination. so, all you have to do is choose 5 out your 8 steps to be sideways, so it is 8 choose 5 or 8 choose 3, where you choose 3 steps to go up

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
