This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. I just searched up hard maths problems and found this website. The website had stated 'Find your Level'. I was curious and decided to try it. Since then, I became a complete addict for Brilliant.

I was reviewing for a contest with a couple of friends then one friend(who also used my account during my early days) suggested to me this website. At first I thought this was boring, but boy was I wrong!
Aaahhh...... it was an amazing incident. I was solving a sum while preparing for jee mains and for a break looked forward to facebook and suddenly a quetion striked on my screen I moved on that link it was really an intresting que. I solved it and become hungry for trying and solving more and more problems I missed level4 Rating but joined Level3 Brilliant improoved my laws concepts more better.Now i added the shortcut of it on my home screen. Its really worth spending time on brilliant.org Really more to learn More to earn. :-)
I saw the ads from Facebook and it said that my sis's friend used it. As I see "math", I immediately clicked it. XD...... The end. =="
I wish I could discover this sooner so I can study for math olympiad. T__T
Essentially my story's kind of boring. We were getting studying for the regional mathematics competition with my friend Jovan Krajevski when he told me about this "cool site with a lot of interesting problems including solutions for them". It was basically love at first sight for me. :)
@Agnishom Chattopadhyay - He was the one who made me rediscover this site which I had long forgotten after a short period of usage in November'13. I rediscovered this in March'14 & am happy to have done that :D
Hello, my name is Vish! How are you? I first got to know Brilliant from a Youtube ad, and then I saw another ad saying, 'Can you solve some problem'. I joined the website at that time. X'D (y)
Someone recommended it to me. Tried it once and forgot about it lol. But since then, I always saw the ads wherever site I'm in. I tried it again and discovered that I already have an account existing, which I am not aware of or forgot about it just like what I first mentioned. Since then, I got addicted to Brilliant. Tho, I'm not good at it. I enjoy it anyway, especially by learning from real Brilliant people. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! HAHAHA

My classmate asked me a question (a hard one) and I was so shocked! I just laughed but deep inside, I really want to know where did he get that one. I surfed the net that day and I found out that it is from Brilliant.org. Honestly, at first, I can't handle the pressure but as time goes by, I managed to learn how to cope up. Now, I can already say that I am a certified Brilliant citizen! HAHAHA
I searched up the smartest teenagers in the world to bump my ego down a few notches, and I discovered that Business Insider ranked these kids using Brilliant. Now I can't tear myself away...Before Brilliant I had an AOPS book called "Volume One; The Basics". I couldn't make head or tail of much of it. Now Volume 2 isn't much of a challenge.

It was so long ago, but I think it was that the math social group was talking about this website, and I decided to try it out. Yea, pretty orthodox story here.
I have a habit of typing in random sites (which has lead me to some really bad sites).. But this is how I found brilliant.org....I first tried for .com, .net..... But i got stuck here and here I am....BTW, I found a cool site which is really funny.... Type in something and u get funny results!!

I found random math problems appearing on my Facebook. I solved all of them (about 3), then it redirected me here. I ignored it for a couple of months. Recently I answered a level 4 problem, and that got me hooked.
I don't actually remember... :P
I discovered Brilliant.org when I was searching programming problems at SPOJ. There is Brilliant ads at the top of the page. Then, I tried to visit it and wow Brilliant.org is great!
A math teacher recommended Brilliant.org to me, so I decided to give it a try.
Resulted in one hell of a site, great for improvement!
A friend of mine told me about brilliant.org.
My friend Shivamani Patil told me about this website and now I am completely addicted for Brilliant.org

I opened the google play store to get an app which helped me solve mathematics problems. I had neglected it at first but since i have discovered people who post great problems (@CalvinLin , @Sharky Kesa and many more......) i have become a complete brilliant addict.

On AoPS, someone shared a math problem website address with me. I figured out what to do in this website and loved it after that.
For many years I had been playing uk.yahoobridge till it got suspended in early this year. I was looking for some brain activity. In FeelTipTop's insight engine I keyed in 'mathematical puzzles' for search. I found this Brilliant.com "Solve this...". I liked its 'Boast about it on Twitter" feature so much that I could not keep myself away from this daily exercise. By now I have earned 1,80,000 score. Now after one year I am at 7,00,000.
My friend, @Zi Song Yeoh introduced me to this website in December 2012. Since I took the level placement test, I was hooked. =)
Like most of people I also saw a problem in my facebook feeds. First I thought it wouldn't be much intetesting but when I saw the collection of huge maths and physics problem on it, I got addicted to it! Its the best website for a maths and physics lover to solve interesting problems!
I got to know of this site from my friends. I thought it was pretty cool. And I got hooked!

One of my friend sugested me from Facebook. She said "There are many great math problem inside here, it will open your mind. Math is not that boring."
My story is little different.Actually my father's friend had told me about this website.First I thought this is just a normal kind of website for solving questions.But when I started solving the questions on Brilliant,I became completely addicted to it.

What is the ontological status of points? Are they real?

Ontology, Epistemology...fields best left to philosophers and theoreticians. Bumpkins reason like this, if the red urn had 35 points in it and the blue urn had 36 points...I am certainly gonna grab the blue urn.

First place? Several people have said, "in the first place" to me today. I suspect that my first place is overcrowded. I am going to my second place...luckily there is some room in there. I can phrase it in a different way:
A red urn has 35 pts in it and another urn colored blue has 36 pts in it. Along comes a bumpkin, he spots the the urns, he turns to the urns. He grabs one and runs away. What is the probability that said bumpklin has swiped the red urn? I calculate P(red urn swipeage) = 0.

Yep, but consider a similar problem: An urn where there are 35 litres of poison and another where there are 36 litres. Should you still choose the 36 litres urn?

I do not consider the point system poison. You asked earlier if points were real, I would say yes.
when i was searching for any maths competitions in google, i just saw the Live Challenge and got introduced to Brilliant!!!!! it is just mindblowing
