I'd love to hear from lots of people how they first found out about Brilliant. I'm a math teacher and think Brilliant is great. I heard about it from another teacher on Twitter. How about you?
This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Justin,
It's great to see educators on our site. Currently 60% of our users find us by word of mouth (or keyboard) and 40% through online ads targeting math enthusiasts. Word of mouth is always the best way to build a cool online community. If any of you have friends who would enjoy our problem sets, be sure to let them know about us.
I was bored and typed "www.mathematics.com" or something like that (I don't remember very well) and the first link was to this website. That is something I rarely do, but I feel lucky to find it : )
If I remember correctly, I was led to Brilliant by an ad on a webpage about online courses. I'm glad that my browsing of the Internet brought me to this wonderful site.
Well on a fine afternoon when I was bored to hell,I typed mathematics, then sprang up the ad of Fall Maths Challenge..I unfortunately joined it in the 5th week..
Waiting for the next challenge.
