How do you post a solution to a problem?

How do you post a solution to a problem? I don't see a button anywhere for it. I also checked the Help page and didn't find anything.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Thank you! So I guess the problem I am having then, is that in Step 3 I am not actually getting the option for adding a solution, even after correctly answering the question. Is there anything else I can do to get a solution posted?

Leave it under a comment of a solution. If we like it, we will convert it into a solution!

You can't insert images when replying though right?

@Ian Myers I have restored your solution and added a line of "This solution is being edited".

Currently, we do not offer an easy way of uploading an image when making a comment. You could always use the markdown format of ![title](url link) to display an image.

Hi Ian,

I saw that you wrote up a solution which concluded with "Enter. I am not sure what is going on here. My guess is that it's a bug." Furthermore, you deleted this solution soon after posting it.

We allow a maximum of 1 solution to be posted per person per problem, which is why you are currently unable to post another solution.

If you would like to be un-delete your solution, please let me know. You would be able to edit your solution by clicking on the edit button at the bottom (similar to editing a comment).

As far as I can tell, you can only post a solution if you have solved that problem.

Why don't I get an option to post solutions or comment in Daily Challenges and Community problems (I get an option to comment and in a few question only I get an option to post an explanation in community)?

Prabhat Singh - 5 months ago

Hi, you're only able to post a solution if you have submitted the correct answer.

Despite that, I do not get any option in daily challenges! I just get the option to comment on someone's explanation. (In community questions I am able to post explanations)

@Brilliant Mathematics Thanks for your assistance, I use an Android smartphone and perhaps that's why I am not able to do so.

Prabhat Singh - 5 months ago

Is there no option for FAQs on the Brilliant app for Android? I had to Google up to reach to this zone and on clicking the link, it opens in app but I dont find any such option in the app by myself. Why?
