How to refer to Support Staff

Some call them "Sirs"

Some call them "Masters"

What is the proper term?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

Interesting question Tim. The staff of Brilliant receive varied salutations from the diverse constituency on this site.

Truthfully we are not very picky. We care much more about being adressed respectfully and amiably than we care about any kind of formal adress. We do not mind being called "Sir," but it is also not necessary.

Perhaps when we have full-time support staff we will give them clever titles, and they will have a very specific way of being adressed. If you have any ideas let me know.

For now, feel free to adress the staff by our names. E.g. I am Peter. When contacting support@brilliant.org ask for Bradan, and if there is a need to adress us generally, just say, "hello out there" or "to whom it may concern," or really whatever you feel like.
