I wish for a biology section too.

I been in this wonderful community for about two weeks now, solving problems taking practice questions. But now i feel that all the questions are basically regarding the maths , physics , calculus, computer science and may similar topics. I don't know whether there are people around that feel the need of biology on the mix but it would be a good change to community. If you feel do let me know , i promise to put up a question everyday for you. Thank You.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Dna is basically a double helical structure, it has various bases present in this helix. Now these bases are adenine guanine thymine and cytosine. these bases spell the genetic code. Genetic code is different in every organism and each organism has unique genes. These genes are derived from there parents by the fusion of gametes where chromosomes of both parents are divided into half and mixed to form 23 pairs. now these pairs have information present in them regarding your eye color, height , hair color etc and this information is stored in various dna which is present in various parts of the foetus. (this is a brief version)
