IAPT+HBCSE olympiads 2014-15...

Hello everyone!! So tomorrow morning we will be facing NSEs (NSEJS, NSEC, NSEP, NSEA) by IAPT and HBCSE. Its a request for all of you to give a feedback about them in comments!! All the best to participating ones!! For those who are not participating, I will be posting PDF links soon!

For those who do not know about these olympiads, I would like to mention that these are the first step for being the part of Indian team for IPhO (To be held in India), IChO (To be held in Azerbaijan), IAO (To be held in Bulgaria) and IBO (To be held in Denmark).

For IMO, RMO is held. (Not by IAPT)

So according to official answer keys, how much are you scoring?

My scores:

NSEA=144
NSEC=180
NSEP=105

NSEC=206 NSEP=128

I have not given NSEA.

@Pranjal Jain – Physics no chance, I know many people who are getting above 130 , because I am in Rajasthan and there are only 17 selections from it, if I by that 0.00000000001 % chance got in first then I will practice very hard for the second and the third stage.

In chemistry because of MAKS score I will surely get selected at least I am thinking so.

Anyway thanks for the motivation.

I dont know actually! Due to two "Pranjal Jain" at same centre a tragedy happened during NSEP, and some time was wasted. Still do you have expected answer key?

Well, most of the questions were of topics that I didn't practiced that much. So, I'm getting just between 86-94 (I got -15 because of negative marking).

The answer key for NSEA is not out yet.

@Karthik Sharma – Oh! I am getting 172 (-17 negative marking) in NSEC. It was such an easy peasy paper! One could have got 200+. Btw (-16 negative in NSEP)

@Ronak Agarwal – 100% selection. I am in allen. you are scoring second highest, :) . one is getting 212. and then you are 2nd. Also, if you know new rules, which says that, if your score is > MAS score, then you will automatically get selected. MAS score is 80% of average of top-10 rankers. So, if you have score > 192, you are anyway selected :).

@Ronak Agarwal – I think you will qualify bro,, there are just 6 selections from WB if i am right and still last year cutoff in NSEC was 180,, and you did really well, infact,, like above 200 is amazing

I guess it must be between 100 and 110.

@Pranjal Jain – If you are talking about rajasthan then no way it's going to be between 100 and 110, it must be atleast 130-135, there are only 17 selections from Rajasthan for NSEP.

Hello everyone! I am selected in Chemistry olympiad with just clearing MI.

I am getting 153 in astronomy and I am 18th in Rajasthan while there are 17 selections from Rajasthan! Very depressed about this! :'(

i am getting 120 with current answer key.the questions which i feel wrong are-(qp code A454) 24-c,30-b,36-a,64-c(a little doubtful),68-a(a little doubtful), 73-d. the options given are right options according to me(except 68 and 64).

Question 24

Answer should be a only

first of all 27^2015 will end with 3 , 21^2015 will be end with 1 and 23^2015 will end with 7 .

its similar of doing the following operation (13+11-17 = 7)

Hence it will always end with a 7 only (you got 3 because you did 3+1-7 = -3 which is actually wrong because if units digits are 4 and 7 then result will end with a 7 only because we carry it)

question 30

i also agree that answer should be B Only . its straightforward P-T curve is a straight line for an ideal gas the volume will obviously remain constant.

Question 36

Answer should be B Only . you can checkout resonance solutions at resonance.ac.in

Question 64

Answer should be A Only . the same problem is also there in hc verma .

Question 68-

I Agree that it should Be A Only.

Question 73-

It should Be B Only

I am in class 9( goint to class 10 this year). I will be giving NSEA in this november and most probably also NSEP, can someone please give me some tips on how to prepare and what to prepare for both (mainly NSEA and INAO).
