IISC Admissions
Today IISC sent it offers letters to those who are selected and inviting them to attend counselling at 21 st May 2015( Just 3 days before JEE Advanced). I just wanted to know who have applied for IISC and coming for the counseling session at 21st.

Count me in. @Ronak Agarwal . Why aren't you replying? I do not know why they are doing this... Completely screwed up plans for JEE Adv/other colleges. But I will be attending.

Please send an email to dean of IISC to change the date of counselling, I hope it takes effect. I have sent an email, you should too.

Why should I do it in Hindi? And typing in Hindi in English alphabet means that the person knows English, right? Anyways, I thought of doing this too. But they seem to have mentioned it strictly in the offer letter. I don't think they will entertain any sort of requests in this regard. The only exception is when a significant number of people write to them. I will do it. But considering the number of classmates who have already made travel plans, I am not extremely optimistic.

I sort of assumed. At first it seemed like you wanted to know so that we may be able to communicate if we met at the counselling session. But then we could converse in English, so I thought you had asked me for some other reason. And that was the only reason that I could come up with.

Raghav have you sent the mail, remember you can request to give another date for counseling
other than 21 st, and you should feel optimistic about sending the letter since you are not asking for changing the date of counseling you are just asking for another date for counseling.
I really wished if counseling happened after JEE Advance.
I think it will be difficult for me.

I wanted to go in IISc not IIT but now i have changed my plan. How can they expect someone from Rajasthan to come visit a few days before advance.

Send email to iisc and request them to give another date for counseling they will surely give another date that is july first week.
i am in st , anselms in 12th this year . i am following u if u could guide me of this exam i will be thankful to u .

You are from mumbai right.
Best wishes to all Brilliantines attending IISc counselling. It is a great place. Sometimes I wish that all bright students should get a chance to spend a semester there at the least to really know the difference. It is a place like no other. It is a lifetime opportunity. When the competition is tough, my advice is that one should remain cool, living the moment with unconcern about the future or the past (cf. karmic).
Are all those who are invited are selected or they are the probable ones?I mean last year all kvpy scholars were invited but not all of them were admitted.
I was also invited but I don't know if I'll be going.. Its tooo close to advanced.

Send an email to to IISC to give another date for counseling they will surely give another date for counseling.
Count me too @Ronak Agarwal . But still for me it will not be too big a problem as I am taking my JEE Advanced at Bangalore itself. But still , considering the fact that it would affect my preparations( particularly inorganic chemistry) , I too sent a mail and requested to postpone the counselling session and told my friends too.
@Raghav Vaidyanathan , @Ronak Agarwal , @Prakhar Gupta Can any of you please tell me what was the criteria to get invited for the counselling session? I cleared kvpy this year yet I haven't received an email. Did we have to fill the application form?

I am pretty sure that all of us got selected on the basis of performance in KVPY-SA. We applied online for admission into the UG program.
I do have classmates who have cleared KVPY-SX this year, and they have received no such invitation. Although this may be due to the fact that they did not apply for the UG program online. But one of my friends did mention that he got a letter(hard copy) from the convener of KVPY saying something.. but I do not know.
I will be meeting my classmates today as we have an exam. I will ask them and tell you if I get to know something.

Thanks a lot. I got a letter too but it only said that to avail the fellowship I needed to intimate their office before 5th September.
First of all you should have applied for the admission into the UG course through an online application form.
If you had done that and you are from SX or SA branch and general category, then your rank should be under 350.

Hello Ronak, do you know what all documents we have to bring with us during the counseling.
I mean all the medical certificates and other documents mentioned in the Annexure 1 need to be presented at counseling or on 15th July while taking admission.
