Being transparent, can I say that glass is a better insulator than wood. (Reason: In GLASS visible light(lower energy)is not able to excite the electrons in it,so just pass away to other side(transparent),but UV(higher energy) uses photon energy to excite and can not able to come to the other side; WOOD even does not allow visible light to come the other side(not transparent). So, by this can i say that wood requires less energy to liberate its electron from its native orbit?)

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
