Hi everyone, I've been on this site before but I didn't join until now. I'm not the best at math but I love a challenge and I like thinking and working things out. You all make it very interesting the way you go about the work.... I hope to make new friends and to gain more potential and understanding of everything that has to do with math with "you". Feel free to ask me almost any question and you can call me jessie or Jtrip. I look forward to communicating with you. :) feel free as well to add me to your circle on google if you have an account [email protected].

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

Howdy Jtrip. Welcome to Brilliant!
We are happy to have you. If you like "being challenged and thinking things out" we should be able to offer you endless amusement, regardless of your current relationship to math.
A few words of advice
Don't feel shame about viewing solutions to problems that stump you. Embrace the fact that you aren't doing Brilliant right if it is easy. Concentrate on learning from the solutions of others, and don't hesitate to ask questions if there are steps you do not understand.
Once you are comfortable with our interface, you should try writing solutions of your own. Nothing makes you more conscious of how you reason than trying to explain it to others. Check out our formatting guide to learn how to write math on Brilliant.
Let us know if you have any questions.
