Hi guys! Since I have been seeing Biology-related notes/questions everywhere on Brilliant, I decided that I’m going to make a set (maybe) about that as well… But first, I’m going to explore the concepts of biology a little bit. Hopefully this will help!
So first off, biology can largely be categorized into two main levels: cellular and ecosystem. Although there are many many in between, these two kind of summarize it, in my opinion. However, here is the entire organization of biology {there may be even more that I don’t know about…}:
A lot of biology-related works/topics are focused mainly on the inside of organisms. They may be about cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, etc. These I have classified into the “cellular” category. They represent “inside of organisms”, or in some cases, the organisms themselves.
Next, as for ecosystem, I mean the interactions between living things, and interactions between living things and their environment. This is “outside of organisms”. Perhaps the coevolution of ants and acacia trees, for example. Behaviour is also counted as part of the ecosystem section, as in seasonal changes or migration/hibernation/estivation, circadian rhythms, etc.
Most biology textbooks start with the cellular level, but since that seems to be slightly boring (to me at least) I think my notes and questions in the set will focus more on the “ecosystem” level of things, for example I might explore topics such as symbiotic relationships, energy flow, cycles of nature, animal behavior, and the such…
Thanks for reading this! This is my first note… ever… so I hope I didn’t miss anything or mess anything up! If there's anything I could improve please do tell me in the comments! Feedback is welcome :)

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
