Is number line really straight

see this is one of the questions that have disturbed my mind , and the question is " why is our number line straight? I say the number line is not straight it is a closed circle or elliptical orbit . one of the far most point is infinity and the other one is -infinity. tell me how am i wrong. and also sand me notification if you want to see the image of my imagined number line.
