This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Congos . i m astonished topper has scored 355 marks. Was exam easier than previous years' papers? 2 years back when i gave aieee(now jee main) paper was damn easy still topper managed to score no more than 346 marks I myself scored 330 marks and still got AIR 30 maybe you people are smarter i guess
Hi @Rajen Kapur and @Sudeep Salgia - Brilliant's problems so far have mostly focused on building general problem solving skills in algebra, geometry, calculus, etc. Recently the community has started to build up problems that are more specifically in the style of the JEE. You can see the beginnings of that here: https://brilliant.org/tags/jee/. This should become a useful resource for future students preparing for the JEE.
Thanks a lot.
Well frankly I came to know about Brilliant just about a month before Mains. Hence, it was too short a period for me to solve enough number of problems to help me. Moreover, I found that the problems are quite different from those which are asked in JEE. Hence, even in general it does not significantly impact JEE preparations.

First of all...hearty congratulations on nailing mains!!! It was amazing to se ur pic in the newspaper...I hope to emulate that next year :D ....Also, even I have started feeling that I spent a lot of time on brilliant without it actually helping me with my prep...no doubt it's a great site, but I felt the output was not in accordance to the time I spent on the site.....so I come on brilliant like just once in 2 weeks or something....what do u think?? Any advice??

https://brilliant.org/tags/jee/ is turning out to be a resource for JEE preparation. In my academic bent of mind I tend to believe that problem solving skills help in cracking any competitive examination. Please re-think your concluding line.
289 is very good. You should not consider it inferior from any standards. As Brian Lara said after scoring a triple hundred that he starts the next innings from zero.

Hi @Tanya Gupta – That's really cool! Can you upload a picture of the front page, for those of us in the United States who can't get the Times of India?
Hi @Anish Puthuraya and @Max B – as I was mentioning to Rajen and Sudeep above, Brilliant's problems so far have mostly focused on building general problem solving skills in algebra, geometry, calculus, etc. Recently the community has started to build up problems that are more specifically in the style of the JEE. You can see the beginnings of that here: https://brilliant.org/tags/jee/. This should be a useful resource for future students preparing for the JEE.
212 marks is not good at all. Honestly speaking, Brilliant made me learn new concepts, but it doesnt help that much for JEE-Advanced. Its a great site for sure, but for JEE, it doesnt fit very well. Also, I study for atleast 7 to 8 hrs a day.
@Anish Puthuraya

So not be dissapointed, friend, my result is also not up to the mark. Ready for JEE ADVANCE,I think your result is much better in JEE ADVANCE. Best of luck!!!!!!!

I am hoping this doesn't sound rude or anything.....do concentrate on chemistry....our professors have told us it is very scoring and can wreck havoc with our ranks....also, I read in an earlier post that u got distracted due to the procedures which had to be followed during mains which might have contributed to u getting 212....I dont know, but this might happen in advance as well....be prepared for that....I would advice u to try attempting a paper in that kind of atmosphere and get used to it......ALL THE BEST for ADVANCE!!!
