June 17 - Third Day

Tuesday ... I could use more sleep.

There was a coding competition, and Ritvik's team came in first! Congrats.

Chess has become the default leisure activity.

Mursalin continued to hang out with his idol, and he hope he will not be seduced to the dark side.

Next day

  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

I want to start off by congratulating Ritvik and his team! Ritvik, you are amazing at what you do. Keep it up!

I really have no solid foundation in coding. So obviously I couldn't contribute much to the project.

My highlight of the day was when Andrew Mayne gave me one of his dvds to me. Everyday he comes to the diner and performs for the students. He also helped a couple of the teams to perfect their pitch for the project.

I ended the day by playing a game of chess with Nikhil Pandya.

Next day we're going on field trips!

Well, other than coding, the interesting part for me that day was playing chess with @Milun Moghe and taught him how to play chinese chess! He said chinese chess is more complicated though...

@Ritvik Choudhary I predict you as the winner of the hackathon although the competition is tough. :D

You were right! Ritvik's team was one of the winners, and mine got in to the honorable mentions!

So now I'm officialy an android programmer, and the co-founder of a multinational company! To be fair though, we should have managed our time better, as we ended up having to finish our work at the very last minute - working on two apps at the same time is hard, especially when you have very little time.

Lesson of the day: When you have a big project going on, focus all your attention on it!

Hopefully, we're gonna be able to keep working on, as it looks like a very promising project - mant people showed a lot of interest in our work!

Bacon Ninja was freaking awesome man! Loved it!

Yep,Ritvik's team won! Me @Beakal Tiliksew and @Sadi Kneipp Neto in it,but he did like almost all the work. The rest of us did not have the coding knowledge that goes past solving problems. It was fun though and it got me really interested in app development.

@Calvin Lin the dark side?

Magic, the mystical arts. As opposed to mathematics, the king of science.

Oh, in that case, I was already on the dark side years ago. For mathematics, I have you :)
