This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

@josh silverman I enjoyed trying to enjoy your political physics set, too bad it was too deep for me though. Are you a political scientist or something? I like to see your real-world math problems, like this politics one and the biological system problem.

that's sad! do you think it could it be written in a way so that you'd understand it or is it some kind of topics you haven't gotten to yet?
Are you a political scientist or something?
not yet, at least. i just wondered one day what kind of error was being used in a poll that was reported in a newspaper, then thought of the connection with stat mech and got it.

excellent. i have some on the way, another set sometime this weekend (about phase transitions?) or so and some lone rangers as well. thanks for the feedback.
@Peter Taylor I'm going away for a state math competition this weekend. I might not be able to access Brilliant (I don't have a phone or laptop to bring), but I'll be sure to tell you all results when I get back. Wish me luck!
Bro, you have no idea of how many posts I like per minute. Roughly 40. I don't reshare (because of OCD), though. But yeah, I'm "like-crazy". Remember my note People shouldn't be so reluctant to follow/like. Yeah. Also, how'd that math thing go?
Why? To me a good person to follow is someone who shares and re-shares a lot of good stuff. If you see something really cool, wouldn't you want your seven-hundred-something followers to see it as well?

Dude, I would love too! I am legally OCD which means that I'm super organized. Which means if I have 100 posts of my own, and 2 or three of others (consecutively), I would literally pull my hair out! Everything has to be perfect in my feed.
Bro, I feel you dawg, like homie, doe, I get your feels. The math convention was fun, and although I didn't perform at my top level I enjoyed the experience and learned a lot and look forward to next years'.
Do you have a state high school competition to look forward to? Or something similar?

Yeah bro, it's all chill here, I had State MATHCOUNTS, frickin boss-ness. I was swaggin' out with my homies and our team got 5th man, it was so chill. :O
@Nanayaranaraknas Vahdam I really like the concept of your Science of Apps! set. Are you going to make a 2048 question as well? Also, I think a better title would be "Science of Game Apps!" or something similar to indicate games (but that's just my thought). Keep up the work!
@Arron Kau For your recent Condiment Patterns set, did Brilliant staff have a lunch party and you decided to have some fun? I bet it was fun to make the pictures.
Origami? Sure...... My favorite model is Kusudama Flower! I also love other models such as Swallow Paper Airplane, Rose Cube, and others. (Sorry for the late reply.)

@Peter Taylor Yay! I did reasonably well at the competition, and I made a set with a few adapted problems in it.
@Finn Hulse Lol why were you liking my old old old posts?
