I 'm doing the Science Essentials course and I've encountered a problem that I don't understand.
In the Conservation of Energy quiz, in slide 3 it was stated that the roller coasters kinetic energy first decreases, then it increases trough points A to C. Meaning it has a lower speed until it reaches point B and increases while gaining speed towards point C.
It was also stated, that Potential Energy + Kinetic Energy = Total Energy.
In slide 7 the quiz asked, how does KE compare in points A and C, and the answer was that they are the same, because their PE are the same (because of the same height) and TE can't change.
Since the formula of KE = 1/2mv^2, and in slide 3 we said that in point A the speed was lower compared to point C, how can it have the same KE on the two points with different speeds?
Am I missing something here?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
