KVPY Interview

Hello brilliant friends,

My KVPY interview is coming quickly so I want tips for the interview.
Also, This is going to be my first interview as well.
I have no experience about the interviews but I'll gain it soon.

Anyone who wants to give some tips or want to share their experience about interviews can comment below. Looking forward to it.

Comments

The interviewer panel will quiz you on concepts rather than rote knowledge.

At any cost, do not fumble.

Simply say so if you don't know the answer. Biggest blunder you can do is to play around.

DO NOT GET NERVOUS during the interview.

A longer interview does not necessarily imply top grades. Do not go in there with any preconceived false notions which may add to performance anxiety.

Welcome Yash.

Last few advice and facts which I thought would be helpful.

At any point in the interview if you feel the panel is going rough on you ( which they may) just be calm.

Also be prepared to solve questions on the whiteboard. The panel might just ask you. A faster and efficient solving will definitely impress the panelists.

@Yash Dev Lamba – KVPY interviews do not follow a generic model. The session often is more like a spur of the moment conversation between the panel and the student.

As I said buddy- do not form any pre-conceived notions about it which may lead to unnecessary anxiety.

I have got a doubt. Are the panelists scientists and mathematicians? Or they are just 'anyone'?

Congrats Yash, hope the interview is at IISC - B or IISER because the panel is good there.All the best do well.

Lastly , remember these points for the KVPY interview-

NEVER try to fool the interviewers with half-knowledge answers and never lie to them.
Be HUMBLE and they will ask you moderate questions .

3.Dressing up in formals.

4.Use the white board properly.While answering, draw diagrams and explain them.

5.If you get stuck somewhere while answering take a pause don't panic at all be calm & composed.

@Harshit Mittal – First they asked me about favourite subject i said mathematics then they ask me 3 definate integrals i solved them correctly on white board then a very basic algebra question which i also answered then they started asking question about organic chemistry which are basic organic tests .

over all they just ask basic question which are not tough at all.
