Logic

The Logic skill requires you to reason deductively, using a given set of information to determine the correct conclusion. Connect the "If-Then" statements to check the validity of a conclusion. You should be familiar with Sets.

The union of sets $A$ and $B$ is the set $C$ . Which of the following statements must be true?

A) If $1$ is in $A$ , then $1$ is in $B$ .
B) If $2$ is in $B$ , then $2$ is in $A$ .
C) If $3$ is in $C$ , then $3$ is in $A$ .
D) If $4$ is in $C$ , then $4$ is in $B$ .
E) If $5$ is in $A$ , then $5$ is in $C$ .

Solution: The only true statement is E. If $5$ is in $A$ , and since $C$ is the union of $A$ and $B$ , hence $5$ is in $C$ .
