I have seen many pictures from space of the earth at night before. This is the first one I have seen where you can scroll around and zoom in on things. I thought you all might like it.
the crazy things to me were:
The lights in west Australia are mostly wild fires. The border between north korea and south korea is really chilling. most of the lights in Alberta, Canada and the Dakotas in the USA are not people but oil rigs. Look at Prudhoe bay Alaska as well.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

This looks nothing like middle-earth.
