As always this month has gone fast and the craze of Valentine's day is wearing off. But there’s a good news too, the moderator newsletter has completed its first anniversary! Yes, the moderator newsletter has completed one year of its publication, thanks for your support we were able to showcase the best of brilliant every month! Alright, celebrations aside, let’s see some of the highlights of this month.
The Brilliant staff is working hard to make the community interface better every day. New features mean a lot to us, so let's see what the Brilliant staff had in store for us last month!
If you are new to Brilliant, then this tool is meant for you. This handy tool created by the Brilliant team helps us to attach images, add links, create tables, etc. and does it all in one place!
2. New look for the stats page
Check your progress in a new way! The stats page has been redesigned to help us get to know our advances in this mathematics and science adventure. We can now see how many problems we have solved and get to know about the quizzes we’ve attempted and lot more! So start cracking problems and watch your graphs soar even higher!
3. Wiki writers list
Help is always appreciated, no matter how much have you done or how experienced you are. Brilliant respects people who contribute to the wiki library even if they have merely corrected a spelling error. And to do this, we’ve now displayed the names of all contributors who edit the wikis. You can always edit any wiki you want, but be sure you do it responsibly!
From problems to solutions, from notes to wikis, these are the posts that were highly appreciated by the whole community. Here's your chance to have a look at what captured our attention for the past month:
Brilliant.org in the Atlantic! We are proud to announce that Brilliant.org has been playing a significant role in the so-called “MATH REVOLUTION”. It is because of us and many other websites which provide a platform for the students to interact with a community filled with curious knowledge-seekers, that this mass upsurge was created! Thanks to all our staff and members of being a part of this.
Problem writing party. The third problem writing party, as always, was a huge success! Thanks for making your contributions hundreds of incredible problems were submitted! We were able to create five new sections, and are displayed here. Don't worry if you have missed the last one, the fourth party has already started, so make sure you submit your entries. They could be displayed on Brilliant forever.
Valentine's day celebration 2016 The month of love ought to be special, and our beloved member and moderator Agnishom has pinned it again by conducting the second Valentine's day contest. Many interesting problems have come up, each telling its tale. It was a huge success, but we are waiting for the results to be declared.
Brilliant is well known for its high-quality problems, and last month (as in every month) we’d seen the arrival of great problems, and it’s hard for us to shortlist the good ones (because all of them are cool!). But for this month here are our choices:
A square of resistors, may appear easy but it tricked most of the Brilliant community as there was a huge debate which finally got settled. Not Your Typical Trigonometric Values Be careful when you attempt this problem, it involves a mixture of many trigonometric identities.
As we know, Brilliant appreciates the members who work hard to keep the community indulged in various activities from writing problems to editing wikis. It takes a lot of effort for a member to be featured in the who to follow list, and on behalf of Brilliant, I sincerely thank them for their contributions. Last month we’d seen the arrival of new members who were very active, so here are some of those names in no particular order.
Be sure to hit the
button to keep yourself updated with the amazing problems and notes posted by them.
Don't forget, you can always join our Slack chat if you want to talk with our community members. Introduce yourself, share problems, have discussions, participating in the wiki collaboration parties too. Most of all, have fun!
Q: What will a logician choose: a half of an egg or eternal bliss in the afterlife?
A: A half of an egg! Because nothing is better than eternal bliss in the afterlife, and a half of an egg is better than nothing.

Easy Math Editor
This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

Though the newsletter is posted by Sravanth , the whole newsletter is a collective effort of the moderators and staff and not only Sravanth. Infact the most work is done by @Andrew Ellinor and @Sandeep Bhardwaj .

Why is it so?I mean why do the guy or gal who makes the newsletter does not post it ?

Hey everyone! So, it's been a whole big year since we started the very first newsletter. At first I thought it was a foolish idea, but nevertheless posted the first newsletter; never knew it had been going on all till now. Congo to the moderators! Wish I could be active again, missing everything Brilliant... :(

I would be glad if you hold Troll King contest for this year as well! :)

Hi! Yeah, how much I loved those days. The TKC was then the biggest fun contest ever held on Brilliant! I don't think it'd be possible this time for me though, why don't you?

Hiyah!
Great, so here you guys even post names of those who to follow ⌣,
And, if we look at the last question, according to me it is not only a logician but also any rational person should opt for half an egg, because present is more important than afterlife, so we have to enjoy in present instead of dreaming about the pleasant afterlife which may change any moment. ;P
