MATH is HARD to Me

Hi, friends. I have a problem with math. The value of math in my school is very bad and I like the dumbest person in class . I'd love to be working on math and get good grades. This is indeed a very common problem, however, often I don't know what formula should I use when working on the problem. Anyone can give a solution? I will give my e-mail address if you want to provide solutions, thanks

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Hi Khansa, Maths is not about using a formula, this even a child can use. However, only a problem solver would know why we are using that formula and how to apply it to different scenerios. So what I recommend you do is, learn the things you learn at school and play around with this techniques and apply it to as many problems as you can. This will help you incredibly. When I was in grade 6 I used to get B and C in my class. But in year 7 I worked really hard on maths, so when I started Grade 8 I was promoted 3 years ahead of my maths class or to Grade 11. So, work hard and you will get what you want.

I have a differing view.

Math is about formulas

But Math competitions/olympiads are not
