  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Sorry, silly typo by me, its been changed. Thanks for letting me know.

A Former Brilliant Member - 11 months, 2 weeks ago

@Percy Jackson, look through my profile and choose the top one - really good for computer science.

Also, if you do choose it, don't solve it and tell everybody about not solving it.

Yajat Shamji - 11 months, 2 weeks ago

@Percy Jackson, today's the day!

Yeah!

Mathathon2020 = BRILLIANT, Let's Go!

@Percy Jackson . Is everything ok ? Bro ! U r not even making comments in regular "TODAY " everyday's questions.

Akela Chana - 11 months, 2 weeks ago

Shouldn't the Mathathon have started two days ago? Does anyone know what's happening? (Or has the Mathathon been converted to the new Mathematicians War?)

@Percy Jackson, and the whole Marathon 2020 community ... Best wishes for the eventual winner. I'm tapping out. Please remove Deva Ishvara from the leaderboard. Stay safe.

Bye, @David Hairston, Best wishes and stay safe!

Tomorrow (as in US time - 12:00 midnight), the (minor drumroll) IMPOSSIBLE PROBLEM will be posted and your score in the IMPOSSIBLE PROBLEM will be multiplied by 2, which means everyone will get double the score they get in the IMPOSSIBLE PROBLEM! Solutions are allowed till Friday, end of the week midnight, bye!

@Percy Jackson We don't study calculus! I thought this contest will only contain basic fields of math. Maybe could you change problem 6? I'm sure not everyone participating has studied calculus.

Lam Luong - 11 months ago

You're 2 years elder than me, and you're saying you haven't learned calculus? anyway, no one answered that problem and the contest is over :)

@Yajat Shamji Oh, the sim equation one, actually thanks for that but, i had only 3 planned sample questions, and sim equations was already used so i don't want to be repetitive.
