  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

aise hi kara kya

2TSinx=u(l1)g ?

and T+u(l2)g sinx=u(l2)g Cosx k

where l1 is hanging part and l2 is part in contact. required value is maximum of (l1)/2(l2) which comes out to be (sinxcosx-sin^2x)?

u= linear mass density k is friction coefficient

@Harshit Jain Question

Akshat Sharma - 5 years, 2 months ago

Kahan gae sab

Akshat Sharma - 5 years, 2 months ago

Let's prove that angle a+angle b+angle c=90° It is obvious that angle c=45°(it is the diagonal of a square) Next we evaluate the segments. Let the shorter side be a and the longer 3a(we know it from the task) it is easy to see that the first segment is a×sqrt2 next one a×sqrt5 and the last axsqrt10. Now we'll prove that they are similar(the triangles) a×sqrt5/a×sqrt2=a×sqrt10/a×sqrt5 since 2 pairs and proportiante they are similar so their angles must be the same from all the we get that angle a+angle b=45° which was to be proven
