This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Support to @Steven Chase sir.
That feature of seeing that who has solved the problem till now, was really a good feature.
It is useful in many ways like
If I have uploaded a problem,and I have little bit doubt in that problem, and no one have posted its solution till now, and suppose the feature is showing 2,3,... solvers, so using that feature we can communicate to those peoples who have solved the problem correctly.
Hope Brilliant will again add that feature.
Greetings. It used to be that when we clicked on the number of solvers for a community problem, it would expand and show who had solved it. That feature no longer exists, but the expansion is still there. Was the intent to remove the feature, and if so, why is the expansion still there? I thought it was a nice feature anyway, and I was a bit sad to see it go.

Well, while I understand that, false references have always come to me as something really odd. After all, if you can't get the name right, what else could you? shrugs
@Brilliant Mathematics - Who makes wikis? Are the wikis constantly getting updated? Do new wikis keep coming? How do you add the View Wiki button to your problem based on the relevant wiki? Also, please see my latest note - Tau, which is my attempt of making a note that looks like a wiki :)
@Nscs 747

I think they did that once before. I've seen a note by Calvin Lin I guess about this. A few users collaborated and helped in making many of the notes. They might've staff or moderators, I dunno. @Nathan Soliman

Hi Nathan and Percy, we currently disable users from editing wiki pages for the time being. We planned to enable this feature in the near future.

The 100-day challenge was a special series of Daily Challenges which included some of the best DCs of the past and some fun and challenging new DCs. It was also an opportunity for us to put in some tougher DCs (towards the end of the challenge) since we normally try to cater our DCs to a more general audience.
If you participated in the 100-day challenge, then you can expect something special in your email inbox soon (check if you have email notifications enabled in your settings).
On the make a problem bit, could you add a multiple choice option. That would be a cool new way of answering and formatting questions with multiple answers
What does community contribution means? How do you calculate it? Is this means how many people read my posts? Or this means approximately how many people learned something from my posts.
I have already contacted support through the chat function about this but it is very annoying. A few days ago my stat graphs suddenly disappeared from the page. Now I just have my course completion and the day by block view (problems tried) of what problems I have completed. I can click on these to see my problems solved and rating changes, but I have no ability to click a specific topic and see my progress in the graph. I've tried on 2 different (desktop) devices and cleared all my browser data.
I’m very sorry about this – it sounds like you’re hitting a bug in our site/app. To help us get to the bottom of this and fix it for you – please send us a screenshot or screen video of the bug happening from your device to support@brilliant.org.
@Brilliant Mathematics Hi, I contacted support on the chat system and they said that this was recently removed on purpose. Why was this removed? The feature is so useful and one that I use all the time as part of my premium membership to track my progress. Very disappointing.
@A Former Brilliant Member
–
I still have my stats page too, I am referring to the graph that you see for each topic as your rating changes. That has been removed.
@Vinayak Srivastava
–
No, it was on desktop and phones, but now just on phones. If you go to the menu where you can go to stats or profile there is a button at the bottom.
Hi Páll. I’m very sorry about this – it sounds like you’re hitting a bug in our site/app. To help us get to the bottom of this and fix it for you – please send us a screenshot or screen video of the bug happening from your device to support@brilliant.org.
But it is still written "orbitals" only! Also, I have seen that if I have attempted a problem in a quiz, I can't report it, I can only report it if I have not attempted, is it a bug?
@Vinayak Srivastava
–
Hi Vinayak, we will revisit the orbits/oribitals issue shortly.
For the report issue: I am still able to report it after I've attempt it.
Either way, it sounds like you’re hitting a bug in our site/app. To help us get to the bottom of this and fix it for you – please send us a screenshot or screen video of the bug happening from your device to support@brilliant.org.

Ok, and I also can't see two menus in the notification bar, "Want to work at Brilliant" and "Contact support". I came to know from the Daily Challenge page, please see to that. Thank you!
@Brilliant Mathematics

It seems working now, actually the mouse pointer was not changing which changes when I need to click somewhere. I think its working for one quiz, I will check for another quiz when I will attempt it, if it does not work, I will let you know, thank you for helping!
Hi, In the daily challenge section, can you create a comment at the top of your solution. Under which everyone should answer? Sometimes it spoils the fun for others. Thanks!
@Brilliant Mathematics
Many people including i think that the correct answer for the daily challenge should be D and not B could u pls clarify if we r wrong pls it is daily challenge of 12 August 2020

Oh! But if you press the solvers button, then it will move a bit still :)
But it doesn't show the solvers. Maybe they forgot to remove that feature :)
Hi Lil Doug, this is a known issue. I've forwarded this issue to the engineering team.
Greetings. It used to be that when we clicked on the number of solvers for a community problem, it would expand and show who had solved it. Yeah, I liked that feature too. Now it just changes to Hide Solvers, and expands a bit.
Hi Steven Chase, this is a known issue. I've forwarded this issue to the engineering team.
No offense but aren't you referring to the wrong person?
Just asking tho, don't mind me :)
Hi Percy, the staff make wiki pages.
Oh! Did you see my note that looks like a wiki? Its pretty close, but doesn't exactly look like a wiki yet :)
@Brilliant Mathematics can you let users have a chance to make wikis like putting forward a completed note for it and then you publish it with their name so talented people like @Percy Jackson get recognised
@Nathan Soliman
I think they did that once before. I've seen a note by Calvin Lin I guess about this. A few users collaborated and helped in making many of the notes. They might've staff or moderators, I dunno.If you participated in the 100-day challenge, then you can expect something special in your email inbox soon (check if you have email notifications enabled in your settings).
That's a nice pseudo-Wiki I gotta say :)
Thank you!
@Brilliant Mathematics I am unable to see my levels in About in profile
Please rectify this issue.
@Brilliant Mathematics in fact I am unable to see anyone's level. Is it deliberately removed or it is a bug?
Yup, me too, must be a deliberate removal @Aryan Sanghi :)
Me too, it would appear this is a deliberate removal as the levels view on the stats page has also been removed.
@Brilliant Mathematics please reply.
@Brilliant Mathematics the points option is also removed. Please see to it.
Thanks. We're aware of it. We will restore it after some bugs are resolved.
On the make a problem bit, could you add a multiple choice option. That would be a cool new way of answering and formatting questions with multiple answers
Yes, I agree. Buttons would also come handy, but it might not be possible to interpret the original code :)
yeah maybe
I've already submitted this feedback to our engineering team.
What does community contribution means? How do you calculate it? Is this means how many people read my posts? Or this means approximately how many people learned something from my posts.
Can I see a list about all built in codes(for formatting)?
I unfortunately, do not have that ability. Some of the "built in codes" might be obsolete as they are being replaced in the near future.
When I use a button after each block the paddings are different. The first line has always smaller padding
Can you send me a screenshot of this?

Same thing for my account.
@Brilliant Mathematics Hi, I contacted support on the chat system and they said that this was recently removed on purpose. Why was this removed? The feature is so useful and one that I use all the time as part of my premium membership to track my progress. Very disappointing.
@Brilliant Mathematics , @Matthew Christopher
I still have my stats page? Why don't you have yours? If this was a removed feature, why do I still have my stats?Hi, I never saw any graph option on my laptop, is it only on phone? Also, where is the contact support button? Please help me.
@Brilliant Mathematics, please see this discussion. Thanks!
Hi Vinayak, we will look into it. Thanks.
@Brilliant Mathematics, I believe there's a bug in the Problems section:
When you get a problem wrong and exit, you get two eyes (denotes you looked at the solution) instead of the hmm... emoji.
Me too @Yajat Shamji . Seems like BRILLIANT has lots of bugs and removals since this note was made. hmmmm...emoji
When I close a "window" or dismiss a notification, then the symbol is a "magnifying glass".

Super fast! Now it is working :)
Excuse me, is the average counted as one of the Zodiac animals here to make the total 13? If not, please edit it. Thanks in advance!
Nice find. I've fixed it.
In the future, if you have concerns about a problem's wording/clarity/etc., you can report the problem. See how here.
Oh :) I forgot that I could do so
Maybe I am asking a senseless question, if that is the case, I am extremely sorry.
In this should it be "orbitals" or "orbits"? Thanks!
Good eye. I've updated the text to reflect this.
In the future, if you have concerns about a problem's wording/clarity/etc., you can report the problem. See how here.
But it is still written "orbitals" only! Also, I have seen that if I have attempted a problem in a quiz, I can't report it, I can only report it if I have not attempted, is it a bug?
@Brilliant Mathematics?
Also, @Vinayak Srivastava, I definitely think it's a bug...

thanks for pointing it out to me here.
Yes,I will try to respond to you as soon as the engineering team will respond to me.
submit a report to that link directly.
Hi Vinayak, I do not have all the answers here. It would easier if you justExcuse me, could you please help me to deal with these problem reports? Draw it in one go, Find Minimum of (a1+b2+c4)
You can mention them under the reports
Hi Edward, I've resolved all the reports to your first problem, but your second problem is still flawed.
Can you post a question on a tablet/iPad?
Hi Lin, we currently do not have that feature.
Hi, In the daily challenge section, can you create a comment at the top of your solution. Under which everyone should answer? Sometimes it spoils the fun for others. Thanks!
Hi Mahdi, I like your suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't think many people can adhere to that rule.
In the meantime, I will try to figure out a more efficient way to de-clutter the solution discussions...
r u a real person or a automated
