Hey if anyone could help me with the 2 following problems thatd be great.
1) A sample of battery acid is to be analyzed for its sulfuric acid content. A 12.00 mL sample of the acid weighs 14.87g. A 1.00 mL sample of the acid is diluted to 250.0 mL and 10.00 mL of this diluted acid requires 32.44 mL of 0.00498 M Ba(OH)2 for complete titration. What is the mass percent of H2SO4 in the original battery acid solution? (Assume complete dissociation and titration of sulfuric acid)
2) Styrene (C8H8) and ethylbenzene (C8H10) are two organic liquid which form a nearly ideal solution. Consider a styrene/ethylbenzene solution that is 38 % styrene and 62% ethylbenzene by mass. a) Calculate the total vapour pressure above this solution at 90.0-degree celsius (Assume ideal behaviour) given the vapour pressure of pure styrene and ethylbenzene at this temperature are 134mmHg and 182mmHg, respectively. b) Calculate the mole fraction of styrene and ethylbenzene in the vapour above this liquid at 90.0-degree celsius. C) Consider removing a sample of the vapour from part b) and condensing it into a liquid in a separate vessel. Calculate the mole fraction of ethylbenzene in the vapour above this liquid at 90.0-degree celsius. Thanks

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
