This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

We are glad you guy's like the new points exchange!
For the future, feel free to suggest books for the points exchange. You can do this by emailing me at discussions@brilliant.org, or creating a discussion to see if others are also interested in that book or genre. When you create a discussion for this, give your post the tags "points exchange" and "feature requests" and we will look into them. Our constraints on what we could potentially offer are: the book must be available in e-book, and it must not be outrageously expensive.
If you do not have a specific book in mind, but do know what kind of things you would like to read, tell us about what you would like to read and we will look around and see if there is a book that we could offer on that topic.
Sridhar, You will still receive your level three lanyard. All who claimed a lanyard below level 4 before the change in the points exchange will receive a lanyard. Please allow plenty of time for it to arrive, experience has shown us that it can take an extremely long time to reach India.
it can take an extremely long time to reach India.
Lol! That seems pretty obvious to me considering the fact that a "Happy New Year 2012" card that my relative living in the USA sent, reached me in Jan 2013 :P (It actually happened so! )

A lanyard is a rope or cord worn around the neck with a key ring at one end to hold things that you do not want to lose. Think of it as a useful necklace. That said you do not have to wear them around your neck, you can put them in your pocket and treat it as long keychain. People commonly attach their keys, flash drives, id cards, whistles, hand lens, pens etc...
I'd ordered for the level 3 lanyard last week. Can anyone tell me how much time i.e. how many weeks or months (approx.) would it take before the lanyard arrives to me... ---( I am from India )
