New to Brilliant- Is there an intro to the UI?

Hello!

I JUST started on Brilliant.org. I figured with all my college classes online and getting more difficult I could use a leg up. I am already having issues with the UI and am not sure exactly how to navigate it. Is there a tutorial or some such as an introduction to Brilliant and how to add/remove courses and t navigate through everything? I can't seem to find anything helpful via Google.

I am most interested in adding/removing courses and some way to organize them in my "courses" tab. Currently, it added the "recommended" courses, but I can't seem to get rid of them or figure out how to add other courses. It also seems when I select the "courses" tab the rest of the brilliant menu disappears and I'm unsure how to return to course list/home page w/out typing it in the URL. Thank you!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Hi Kirsten! I'd encourage you to browse through our courses, pick one that you like, and then get started. Whenever you start a course, we then put it at the top of the Courses page on future logins. As for the menu disappearing — we limit some of the menu features/options for new users (so things aren't overwhelming), but don't worry, you should be able to access the full menu soon.

If the UI is still giving you trouble, then please send us an email at [email protected], and we'll help you as soon as we can.
