Hi,
I'm a noob.
You can help me.
Here's how:
So I'm having this "NJ Math League Contest" on Tue. every month. It's a total noobfest (compared to some of the freakish Olympiad problems posted here on Brilliant).
It includes: Number Theory (which I mostly can figure out without any knowledge); Combinatorics (sometimes yeah sometimes can't); Geometry (that's an annoying one); Algebra (good.). I don't think it includes anything else. Just basics in each area.
If anyone has sort of like a "lesson plan" that I can utilize in 30 minutes per day to study Combinatorics and the most basicest Number Theory, then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR TELL ME!!! And generally I'd like to be a little good in Combinatorics, not so much Number Theory though (the area's pretty much useless). Like level 2-ish or 3-ish.
I'm just saying, because when I open the Combinatorics section I get a huge list and am terrified by it. But hey - if that huge list actually has easy topics for the most part, I'm up for it.
30 minutes.
That's all I got.
Thank you, competent observer.
P.S. - just skip this note if you don't already have a good idea of what a combinatorics beginner should look into. I don't mean to be a bother to anyone. thx :)

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

For Permutations and Combination I used Elementary Algebra For School by H.S.Hall & S.R.Knight for basics.Concepts are explained properly for beginners.Only thing I found missing was the geometrical representation of permutation-you make boxes in a row and find ways of filling each box or there are tree like diagrams for help etc...-this is very frequent in permutation problems. On higher level I myself lack experience in Permutation & Com... .So, that's all I can tell,if it helps.
Best of luck @John Muradeli for your 'NJ Math League Contest'
@John Muradeli Please Download This - A chapter on Combinatorics .Read it.

I'll look into it.
Thanks, Math Philic!

Welcome pal.U may find that chapter interesting.May be it would make you Level 3 in Combinatorics.

Yo Maphilic!
I've shared your resource with the math club. I think I'm the only president who's done that ^.^ Thank you for this great chapter on combinatorics. Even though I still haven't read it all, I'm sure it can boost the mean scores of the club a little bit.
Cheers!

You are a president of a math club. That's great man.
And Physics?
We don't have such clubs here. :(. But, here, Mathematics has got a lot of heat and every now and then people get eventually busy in Mathematics. Still a math club is better, it's ordered and fun. :3
That was the best combinatorics-for-beginners stuff I could find. If you could, I would say, get "H.S.Hall & S.R.Knight". It's a classic. Has a lot of techniques which are easy to learn and can really be helpful widely.
Combinatorics is hard [my personal view].Problems consumes a lot of time.My favorite is co-ordinate geometry: It almost combines everything :v.
I have more such stuffs: calculus, probability, trigonometry, vectors, binomial, etc. Only high school stuff though. I can upload them for you.You can share those with the club. You won't find those elsewhere, I think so.
@John Muradeli forgot to ask u..How was your contest?

Oh it just happened today like an hour ago :D I'll screenshot the problems once I get them back and post them on here. I think I got a 5/6 :)
yeah!5/6!!Congrats man.
Yes post them.I like your posts. They are nice :D and funny pics :D.
I am having some doubts on pseudo forces :( I know that when operating from non-inertial frame we apply them. But I can't understand why we apply it?You know if u could help me in it to improve my understanding. A simple elementary explanation on them like what they are? why they exist? why we need them?...

Anyway, if you get time, I think you'll like this; I explain the energy conceptually in the following:
johnexplainstheuniverse.shivtr.com
It's a really long read, but look at my notes; you read it only once. Shouldn't take more than an hour.
Just on a day off or something. I think you'll learn something.
Cheers

Nice work, keep up your work. And explain Physics to us :).And .may be, destroy Biology :D
Post something similar in brilliant too.People will like them also learn from them.
Great work @John Muradeli :)
