Not a fan of the design changes.

Between the cartoony thumbnails and feeling void of color, I'm not a fan.

Before it had a more professional and fun look. now its harder to find the courses I'm looking for. It feels too black and white while doing quizzes which feels distracting because its such a sudden change. Maybe add a dark mode option for those how want it?

I may be able to live with the cartoony design choice of the artist who made them (though I do like the previous look much more), but with black thumbnails its hard to distinguish what the courses are visually.

Also when selecting a course, the quizzes go off the edge of the page. You have to click an arrow to expand the quiz list which looks much more organized in the center of the page. I recommend not compacting the quizzes when entering the course page, and if it needs to be compact them, just hide the thumbnails while leaving a title of the section.

I hope see a change on this, I really love the site. I've been doing 10 quizzes a day for 5 months now and hope to keep it going!

  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

I'm not a fan of the new thumbnails either, they should add an option to keep the old ones it kinda makes the whole thing look more dumb.

I hate the new design. I have used Brilliant.org for a few months and then interrupted my subscription because I wasn't using it. Now that I need it for my Math classes I was thinking of subscribing again but I'm very unhappy with the design changes. Before it looked so clean and professional. Now it looks like the notes of a high school student. This is not intended as offence to the designers, I just think the old style suited the site much more. I really hope Brilliant.org switches back to the old design.

I have to agree, I feel that the old design (particularly for classical mechanics) was far more professional and much cleaner.

The cartooning style of the course pictures were so so much better. This new style feels so bland and mechanical, where are the funny cartoons? This was one of the reasons I enjoyed Brilliant so much. Should I just go about doing all the old courses then and never visit Brilliant again? please change it back Brilliant. Your cartoon pictures really made math so fun for me and my friends. =D
