Hello Brilliant Minds, out there!
Here is the october edition of Moderators Newsletter updating you on the new developments you're going to cherish into the community. Moderators, a team of some highly obliged fellows to restrain the community, strive to improve your Brilliant experience,build up the community and get you learn the notions of Maths and Science through wiki collaborations.
New looks good! So, here are several new features that will make you cherished. The Brilliant staff along with the vibrant community keeps on looking forward for new and exciting features that can help the community to learn and grow. And these are some of the new odds and ends Brilliant has successfully come up with in the past month:
It's a discussion group excited to help you with the problems and enhance your proof writing skills. Sualeh Asif has organized this group and invited the community to take a participation. You will get an opportunity to shine your skills every week.For more details get in touch with IMO Problems Discussion Group.
The purpose of the group is to improve geometry problem solving skills through discussions of olympiad problems and special techniques. Xuming Liang wants to organize a discussion group which would help everyone to boost up their synthetic symmetry skills.
It is an exciting feature that everyone desired. You can get the feedback on the wikis that you write and also you're welcomed to post your feedback on the wikis to improve the experience of the wiki page and also to appreciate the great job done by the contributors. You can get more familiar with this feature by taking your eyes through this wiki talk page.
The active and vibrant Brilliant community posts tons of problems and notes which challenge us to think and be creative. Here are some of the challenging problems posted by the community in the past month. Beware,these problems may seem simple,but you will have to do ingenious thinking in order to crack them: Swapping Ints, Astroids, Simply Expand it and Compute The Discriminant, There's gold in there!, Quick Algebra Identities.
A few problems! Never mind, you will get thousands of great interesting problems into the community that you are definitely gonna love. So stay tuned with this intellectual journey!
A huge love and support was given to these posts by the people. These posts are definitely out of the bests of the community. Here you can get them for yourself, in case you missed these.
RMO Mock Test Result: The wait is over! The result of the RMO Mock test conducted by Surya Prakash has arrived.
As you're familiar, Brilliant is featuring several deserving and highly intellectual members of the community to gotta know them better. And for the ninth issue,Sir Michael Mendrin have been featured. You can know him more closely and talk to him through this note.
Ivan Koswara makes awesome puzzles and you will fall for them, it's for sure! If you don't believe, then dare to check those puzzles right here and prove yourself!
Good News! On this thread of RMO-Board,the RMO aspirants can discuss all your doubts and share all you knowledge with others and move forward together as a team.
These people are new members of the Brilliant Family and they have been active in the previous month helping out the community and for that deserve honor and appreciation from all of us.

These members have been very active and have helped the community by posting various,problems,solutions and notes.We should thank and appreciate their efforts.So here are those five(in no particular order):
Akhil Bansal : Highly active Akhil has been a spark for the community with daily contributions in problems and solutions.
Tan Kenneth : Tan's favorite topics are Geometry, Algebra, and Combinatorics, but that doesn't stop him from posting problems across all disciplines (His Logic problems are quite entertaining!)
Dev Sharma : Because he's a 14-year-old master of Algebra, we find it only fitting that Dev's profile picture is of famous mathematician Carl Gauss.
Atul Shivam : Checking out with the community by posting great problems and improving on posting the solutions, for a better engaging environment.
Akshat Sharda : Adding to build up the better experience for the community through his problems, comments and discussions.
Recently, our enthusiastic team of moderators got some fresh faces! Lets welcome them and congratulate them for their association to the team of moderators. You can reach up to them, this way:
Maggie Miller : She's a mathematics graduate student at Princeton University.She hails from Dallas and likes to play guitar and ukulele.
Satyajit Mohanty : He's from a small city in eastern India called 'Rourkela'. Currently, he's a student preparing for the entrance examinations to get admission into top Indian universities in the field of Mathematics or Engineering.
Nihar Mahajan : He is a 10th grader, living in Pune district of Maharashtra State in India. He loves playing table tennis ,listening to music ,watching anime and of course spending time on brilliant and possessing a keen interest in solving mysteries and detectives.

Drat, I may not have come in the ' Who to Follow ' list, but my question Quick Algebra Identities came in ' Interesting challenge problems'.
Who are the top 20 scorers on Brilliant, how to know that ?
A particle is projected with velocity u horizontally from the top of a smooth sphere of radius a so that it slides down the outside of the sphere. If the particle leaves the sphere when it has fallen a height a/4 the value of u is.....
