A right circular cone of semiangle 60° is fixed with its axis vertical and its vertex downwards. A small particle performs circles steadily on the inside of the cone at a constant speed of 70 cm/s. The distance of the particle from the vertex will be

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

Has anyone got the answer?
Sorry, if I am late, but, just make the FBD of the particle and balance the forces. The centripetal force will give you the radius of the particle which will give the height of the particle from the vertex using trigonometry and 60 degrees angle.
