According to the principle of Archimedes,when an ice-cube melts in a glass of water,the water level remains the same as some water is displaced beforehand while the ice cube is immersed in the liquid. So why does the sea level increase because of the melting ice in the poles?

Water level won't increase when icebergs melt. The water level will increase when the snow on ice capped mountains will melt and flow into the sea
