This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

True but I don't think they will bring back the old one.. :(
This layout has been inspired by Twitter. One advantage of this layout is that one gets more than 4 problems every week for a particular topic. The disadvantages are many! :D
But all the thing are mixed up.Nothing is organised and systematic. On home page different topics questions are coming and also discussions are not in a separate column, with the questions only it is appearing. No one is answering to my mail which I have sent.I don't know what they are thinking about.I don't want the point exchange options but old format is well organised and well planned.
Here's a mail I wrote (with no reply, of course) :
"I am sorry to say about this new version of our site:
1. Too much flexible, spineless, without a solid center
2. No more you are knowing how many solved the problem, and who solved it in the meantime. One could feel as a solitary solver, all by himself...
3. Dispersed attention on too many questions. It should be fine, by the way, issuing for each tag "Best of the week"..
They are not going to change this format so I have now given up.. But I certainly expect few changes which I emailed to Calvin.. (though he did not reply)
I absolutely love the new features. User created problems, the reshare system, the consistent flow of problems, all excellent.
The layout was a nice idea, but it's just too disorganized and difficult to navigate. Rather than one big stream including problems from all topics and whatever discussions may come up, I think everything should be separated somehow. "Official" problems (official in the sense that they are at least reshared by the BestOf accounts) should be immediately accessible and separated by category. I liked the way the old layout handled this with the circles rather than displaying each problem fully.
Accessing discussions should be separate from the problems as well.
I like the idea of the follower feed, however. Maybe it can be condensed and placed off to the side? I think the "official" problems and discussions should be the center of the page.
I do like the changes, it is just so disorganized right now.
I really like the new website design but the one thing that I think that would make it ten times better is still having a set of official problems, as previously mentioned by many others. Maybe this could be done by taking all of the problems in the 'Best of (subject)' sections and then have 4 unsolved problems be randomly selected from each topic. These questions could be worth more points or have a greater weight on your rating since you can't pick and choose which questions you want to answer.
I think I know why Anubhav Singh want the old pattern, because he is currently last in the points table for this week but earlier he used to be among the top 5,so I think this could be the genuine reason why he wants old pattern. My aim was not to hurt Anubhav but just concerning why he hate this pattern.
Guys.. I think there are many guys like us who are not liking this format.. I think let us do something about it.. Let us unite and do something about it.. according to me they should give option to users whether one wants to use new format or old.. I will soon post a link to the blog which all those who are not liking new format can join and there let us decide what to do.. what do you say folks?
All of my friends agree on this.
Please share this note.
I agree with Snehal. We should be provided with a option to opt for the New or the classic Old one
Go to my profile.. Follow me.. then you will see this particular thread which I reshared.. then you can reshare it.. After that if you want to unfollow me, you may do so.. :)
You can follow Anubhav instead and repeat the same procedure..
My points are gone, I am sobbing over that. I did not want a T-shirt or a plaque or a trophy but there was this one guy that was ahead of me in points. I think I was closing in on him and he was beginning to feel the heat. But before it could happen, whamo! No more points, I can never catch him now. He will laugh at me forever.
I will NEVER leave Brilliant, even if the format turns into my hatred. This site has given me A LOT. So I can't simply walk away over an update. Though I'm still somewhat against this format.
You cant be against what you love and you believe that brilliant has given you knowledge but i believe i have earned it from here and what is earned cant be taken back and what is given can be taken back.......hope u understand

I agree with you! I dislike this new format. :(
i whole heartedly agree.......the older version is much more clutter free ...this though has many groups but is very unorganized..
