This time Dr. Evil has captured five prisoners! He is looking forward to using his new disintegrator ray on all five of them. However, although Dr. Evil is evil, he is not unfair. Therefore he lays down the following rules:
Five boxes, numbered 1 through 5, will be placed in a room. Each prisoner’s name will be written on a separate sheet of paper and put randomly into an empty box.
One at a time, each prisoner will be allowed to enter and look in four of the boxes.
If the prisoner does not see his name in any of the boxes he checks, Dr. Evil disintegrates everybody!
The prisoners can agree on a plan beforehand, but each prisoner leaves the box room via a separate exit so they cannot communicate during the process.
If everyone is still alive after this process, Dr. Evil will surrender to the authorities. WHAT IS THE BEST STRATEGY FOR OUR HEROES?
