Is there any special name in math for probability dealing with polygons?
I mean questions like: Three vertices are chosen from the seven vertices of a regular 7-sided polygon. What is the probability that they form the vertices of an isosceles triangle?
Where can I get these types of probability problems for practice?

Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

You mean geometric probability?

The specific question given is a standard probability question in a geometric setting.
The type is not Geometric Probability, which calculates probability in terms of length / area / volume.
While it could be considered as "geometric probability" where we count the number of points in which a condition is satisfied, that is not standard usage.

Ah yes! Thanks for the clarification. I think I missed out to read "regular".
Yeah........where can I get questions in the net for practice? I'm preparing for KVPY and I've seen questions based and this in previous year question papers.....

Usually from math forums, and some puzzle sites I guess..
