Problem Tags for Searching

I don't know if this would be a feasible idea to implement but many problems/solutions use some key concepts which are quite recurrent, not only in Brilliant but, in general, in math olympiads, and, for that matter, physics olympiads, and it would help to practice certain key concepts if they were organized in some sort of tag system.

For example, if somebody wanted to look at a list of problems where one could use induction, it might help if there was an easy search system to find solutions to past problems that use an inductive hypothesis.

This is also helpful for those writing articles where they use Brilliant problems. Looking forward to something of the sort!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Hi Ahaan,

We are moving in that direction, with having all of our problems have public share links from the url, so that in principal it is actually possible for anyone to see any Brilliant problem. We will be implementing a way in the near future to browse many problems on Brilliant by type, but it will probably be a while before a kind of tag/search system that comprehensively covers all of our problems with a roadmap, is in place.
