This party is now over. Thanks for your contributions. You can see what we chose by joining the next party!
Greetings Problem Partiers!
Problem Writing Party number four went splendidly! Even though only three community quizzes were made, we are so close to creating a handful of others. With that in mind, we'll be recycling some of the topics from previous problem writing parties. A special thanks to Zeeshan, Jonas, Hobart, Svatejas, Nihar, Toto, Rohith, Deepanshu, Lakshya, ZK, Chung, Anish, Rishabh, Brandon, Margaret, Neelesh, Akhil, Manmeswar, Arjen, Lee, Kerry, Sridhar, Kunal, Hjalmar, Soumava, Worranat, Pranshu, Mehul, and Samarth for all your contributions!
Here are the 3 quizzes that you all helped create:
New Brilliant Challenge Quizzes
We'll be showcasing these quizzes all over social media in the coming weeks because these problems truly are impressive. Okay, announcements over. Let's kick off the fifth Problem Writing Party!
The party starts right now (March 14th, 2016) and will last for the next two weeks. Throughout the two weeks, we will be focusing on writing awesome problems for the topics listed in quizzes that need your help on the publish page.
To join, submit as many problems as you want to these listed topics. At the end of the party, Brilliant staff will be picking the best 5-10 problems for each topic. These problems will then be immortalized and formed into a challenge quiz. If we pick your problem, then you can brag to your friends because it will be displayed on Brilliant forever! Your problem has a better chance of being selected if you include a graphic (when appropriate) and a solution.
Ask questions about the party or brainstorming ideas from Brilliant staff.
Share links to great relevant problems.
Bounce your ideas off each other to help formulate the best problem you can.
To be selected, problems you submit should be fun and challenging to a student in levels 1-3 for the given topic.
The topics of problem submission for this party can be found by navigating over to the Brilliant publish page and checking under the quizzes that need your help section. Just click the contribute button next to the topic you want to make a submission to.
Happy writing and continue to party on!
Easy Math Editor
This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

My contribution to this party, Algebra-Functions:
Composition of two invertible functions
Domain of inverse of composition
A function in two variables
Just invert the function

Thank you Sandeep :)
Here's my entry for the party.
Topic functions: functions and more functions
Another problem(might be off topic): perfect square in polynomial form
Log in to reply
Thanks for your submissions Neelesh! They look like a good start, but let me give you some feedback. When you visit the topic list for this party, note that functions is listed under algebra. So as awesome as it is, the problem you posted for functions requires calculus and might be useful for a later party.
As for the second problem you submitted, it doesn't happen to fit any of the topics we listed. :P
Keep it up though! I like both of these problems and had fun solving them.

sorry for wrong submission! i'll keep it in mind and soon put up some problems
I Will Post some cool coordinate and SHM Problems By Tomorrow
This is my entry for the co-ordinate part - Lets Draw the figure , Circle or Vieta's
Log in to reply
I guess the coordinate part is 3-dimensional coordinate geometry. Anyways, nice problems. Looking for more problems from the topics listed. Thanks! :)
Thanks sandeep sir ! I am working on the functions
My entries :
Relative SHM...coming soon
The "Chain Reaction 1!" and "Chain Reaction 2!" initially gave me a feeling of chemistry. LOL! By the way great problems esp the SHM problems. Thanks! :)

Welcome to my mysterious function problem: The Hidden Function.
Can you work out what f(x) is? ;)
Here are my new entry on Geometry-Coordinate Plane: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5....
& Algebra-Functions: Fibonacci Reversed.
Have fun with the new party!
Hey Dr. Warm! The Fibonacci Reversed question was kinda fun and I think it will go well in a level 2-3 quiz on functions.
The point-to-line distance formula is slightly overused though, so maybe there are some problems that are a little more fun. ;)
For instance, this problem uses the point-to-line distance but in an intriguing way: https://brilliant.org/problems/coupled-lines and this problem also stretches the brain a little bit: https://brilliant.org/problems/possible-right-triangles :)
Thanks, Andrew. I'll surely come up with more challenging lines & points. ;)
My new challenging question on Geometry-Coordinate Plane has come: Bending a Triangle.
Can you bend this triangle? ;)
Now THAT'S the kind of fun challenging coordgeo problem I've been looking for. Thanks!
Thanks! More will come. ;)

Thank you for that. Though I am not too good in coordinate, and the property I used in this problem is one of the very few that I know. XD
I hope that you did great with your exams.

Here's my entry, since functions are the only thing i know from the choices:
Functions: Annual Growth
It might be kind of easy.
For my second functions entry, here's The Donut Upsurge.
And for my third functions entry, here's A Sluggish Download
I'm not sure if this can classify as Algebra or Number Thoery, but functions can be applied to it so... Just enjoy The Summation Secret
