Quadratic Discriminant At Root Level

Hello Brilliant community,

As you're experiencing a lot of new features on Brilliant, one of them is the challenge quizzes which include the challenging problems posted by the community. But for now we don't have quizzes for all the levels in some of the chapters. And one such chapter is Quadratic Discriminant where we don't have Level 1-2 challenge quiz. The community can cherish only Level 3-5 challenges yet and imagine how wounder it will be to have the following sight!

\qquad \qquad \huge \longrightarrow \qquad \qquad

The reason for not having Level 1-2 quiz is that the problems contributed by community, in this range of level, are very less in number. So lets add some more interesting and great problems on the Quadratic Discriminant circumscribed in Level 1-2 region to get it qualified for a challenge quiz. A few that I have in the list are roofed under the set Quadratic Discriminant (Level 1-2).

Here you've got an opportunity to sharpen your Problem Making Skills through this contribution of yours. You can create your own problems or you can use any other resource or you can get inspired from the problems saved in the above set. I'm pretty sure that you will have fun enhancing and exploring your observation of quadratic discriminant at root level.

Once you post the problem(s) you can comment the link(s) to your problem(s) and then we will go on to create an awesome challenge quiz for Level 1-2. I will put the reasonably good problems in the next quiz sets i.e. set 2 and set 3. And you will be able to see your contributions in the challenge quizzes.

I will also dig the roots of this chapter which you could get to know through my contributions. And I'm eagerly waiting for your comments(links).

Thanks a lot!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Here is another problem: Quadratics making union.

Think, all of this, just, becomes boring, as just apply, some Thm's.
