QUIET TRICKY......

Recently my brother attended an interview in apple company.They asked him a tricky question. The question was.. Steve jobs wants to change the icon of his company.He asks suggestion to you.What will you do. Will you argue that the existing symbol is good or will you suggest to change.If you will suggest to change what will the new icon recommended by you be. Could anyone answer this.

I would advise not to change the symbol because it is the identity of the company and changing it would result in people having problems to recognize it and eventually leading to negative impacts on sales

Wrong question. Steve Jobs would never want to change the icon of the company. And even if he wants to and wants suggestion from me. Arguing would be a bad idea(after all, he is Steve Jobs :P and my boss). And hence, I will support my boss. When it comes to the suggestion, I would ask him to change the icon for a premium limited edition special electrical appliances. To make it special, I would suggest a hand-crafted icon or a gold outlined or a Steve Jobs signed icon etc.

I know the real story, Steve Wozniak was the co-founder of Apple Company. He was also a good friend of Steve Jobs. Infact Steve Wozniak founded the apple but Steve Jobs was the one who named it , did the marketing and took the company to new heights. When Steve Wozniak designed a computer he was thinking to give it the name like some XYZ - 235 but Steve Jobs thought a lot and named it Apple because it was not intimidating and people would think that they are familiar with that, it increased the sale of the company too.

So, why would he think to rename it? I think the interviewers should know the history. If I would have been asked then I would recommend Pomegranate.

@Vishwash Kumar Γξω – It is not like that. The interviewers try to test your wit and common sense. My brother was thinking about the answer for few minutes and the interviewers decided that he cant be qualified. So to conclude we cant take things too practically and we must try to give witty responses.
