Ratings for Chemistry and Biology

Hi guys! I'm Travis, and I'm new to Brilliant.

The problems on the site are really, really interesting.

However, I've realized that none of the Chemistry or Biology problems has been rated. Is this intentional?

If so, are ratings for Chemistry/Biology going to be implemented in the near future? I would love to see my progress in those respective subjects, as I have a LOT of room for improvement.

I apologize if there have been a multitude of notes before that of mine requesting for ratings in Chemistry and Biology.

Hey Tristan! This is a perfectly valid note, and although Brilliant staff has already addressed this issue, I'm happy to go over it with you. Here's the basic gist of what's going on. Because Brilliant's supply of Biology/Chemistry problems is limited (at the moment) it cannot administer ratings because there isn't enough variance in difficulty. Brilliant has only a faint idea of how problems can range in terms of difficulty, and they have to engineer the ratings system around it. Because Chemistry/Biology are not computation problems, and can easily be looked up, the acceptance rate for higher levels must be higher. Right now, for example, an Algebra problem that I post will only stay Level 5 if less than half of the attempts solve it (usually). But for Chemistry/Biology, the system would have to adjust, because honestly there doesn't exist a Biology problem that only less than 50% of Brilliant members can solve. Do you see what I'm saying? I hope this helps. :D
