Requests+AwesomeNews

Awesome news is that Calvin sir has asked me too for being a moderator, and no doubt I am thrilled to be that !

\(\color{Red}{\textbf{Feature Requests}}\) are as follows,

\bullet \quad New addition here - The people to follow page should have more sections, like #Algebra , #Geometry, #NumberTheory , #Combinatorics , #Mechanics , #Electricity, #Magnetism. This will allow users to get even more people to follow, and a good topic-wise thing. Also, the number of people in each topic can be increased to 5 at least.

\bullet \quad New addition here - In the LaTeX\LaTeX guide page, brilliant.org has given the link of a wikipedia page, which is LaTeX/Mathematics.... I have a suggestion, give link of this wikipedia page, Help Displaying a formula

\bullet \quad We should be able to see the number of likes and reshares of own sets.

\bullet \quad We should be able to edit our details, like School name and address, as it can change (For example, i have passed out from the school that my account shows)

\bullet \quad We should be able to see a typed LaTeX code for a math term in some problem.

\bullet \quad People who downvote comments for fun should be banned from commenting for some time (like a temporary punishment)

\bullet \quad At times, the math terms in a formatting appear smaller than the normal non-latexed text. This bug should be fixed.

\bullet \quad Our ratings should be made visible at least now !

\bullet \quad The rating system of problems shouldn't be based on number of attempts got wrong, because maybe at times a tougher problem will get more solvers, and less tougher maybe bit tricky like missing a single case gives change , so i have seen such a thing that easier problem has larger rating than tougher one. (Easy or Tough is a relative concept though)

\bullet \quad Notifications on brilliant will be a much better and appreciable thing to see.

Anyone willing some additions is welcome !

  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Other suggestion: * There should be a system for displaying all the problems and notes a person created in his profile.

Congrats Aditya!

I saw the screenshot of your email today morning.

Thanks, about your point, you're absolutely right! To make sure this happens in my case, i have made a set of all problems and notes i ever shared on brilliant, named "Everything that i shared on brilliant", so that could be a solution to your query/suggestion/feature-request. ;)

Update: You can now view Latex codes by hovering over the equation. Read Seeing actual LaTeX\LaTeX for more details!

postimg.org is a good place for uploading images.

mathh mathh - 6 years, 9 months ago

Yeah, for example, I want to upload an image here. The link of that image (uploaded somewhere online) is " http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/55/8-cell-simple.gif "

So when i type it in the format

! [any text you wish] (link)

Then it appears as

img img

IF you want to upload own image, then to make it in online format and get it's link for your usage, you can go to " postimage.org "
