@Yajat Shamji, I don't understand, how do you know that the forces are acting opposite to each other? Why are you directly subtracting them?

Well, generally "pairs" of forces refers to forces acting in opposite direction to each other.

I agree. You can modify the angle of the forces to create a resultant force vector with magnitude 2N2N.
