SCIENCE a boon or bane - Nice topic to discuss

While starting the duscussion, the First question will rise that, What is Science? What do we understand by the term SCIENCE? The term SCIENCE is derived from the latin word SCIENTIA which means KNOWLEDGE. And it is ourself who judge it as BOON or BANE. I am remembering a thought SHAKESPEARE(the father of Poet) said, "NOTHING IS GOOD OR BAD BUT THINKING MAKES IT SO!" So it depends on ourself what we think about. According to my point of view SCIENCE is BOON for us. There are many advantages of Science. For SCIENCE and only for SCIENCE we have reached in such a position that we are able to answer each and every question. For e.g. 1. In how many days the EARTH rotate around the sun? 2. When we fell a dubstance or a thing why it goes downwards? We all know the answer to these questions(WHY?) Only because of SCIENCE. And the last thing i would like to say IF WE UTILISE SCIENCE IN A PROPER WAY,"THE WORLD WOULD BECOME BED OF ROSEs" So think about it whether is it BOON or BANE?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Atanu you are absolutely right. Most of the pepole say that it is bane for us. But your point of view is absolutely right.
