i have got a very simple doubt regarding semiconductors....since i decided to read this chapter again i would like to ask it here.....we say that in intrinsic semiconductors,the free electrons due to thermal energy leave their respective places and the holes are formed here...and as this process continues it appears that there is a movement of holes and electrons...MY DOUBT IS if we say that the holes move apparently(because the holes can never move..it is the electrons) then why do we take in count the current produced by them
i.e.
I = I(e) + I(h)

Bcoz due to thermal effect one electron and one hole is created the free electron is conducting independently whereas hole is conducting independently.The hole conducts by taking electron from other atom and creating a hole in that atom and so on.
