[Staff Post] Not receiving Brilliant update emails?

Many users have complained that they've been missing our update emails. This is usually because their email program has marked our updates as spam or junk. To make sure you don't miss out on important updates from Brilliant, follow these easy steps:

If you use Gmail:

  1. Click on the gear icon, and select "Settings"
  2. Select "Filters" scroll to the bottom, and click "Create a new filter"
  3. In the "From" field, enter "@brilliant.org" and click "Create a filter with this search"
  4. Select "Never send it to Spam" and then finish by clicking "Create filter"

If you use Yahoo Mail:

  1. Click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, and select "Mail Options"
  2. Select Filters, and click the Add button
  3. In the Filter Name field, enter "Brilliant", and in the Sender field, enter "@brilliant.org"
  4. Under "Then move the message to:", select "Inbox," and finish by clicking "Save"

If you use Hotmail:

  1. Click "Options", and choose "More options..."
  2. Select "Safe and blocked senders," then "Safe senders"
  3. Enter "brilliant.org" and click the "Add to list" button

If you use another email program, and are experiencing this problem, please visit this site for instructions on setting up your spam filters.

  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Comments

The first step should be to check that the email address you provided is accurate and that you can receive mail. I respond to a lot of clarification emails which bounce back, despite letting users know what email they provided.

Sir, I had an email ID of mine entered initially in Brilliant, but then I forgot it's password. So I logged in from Facebook into Brilliant, and added another email ID of mine. Then I clicked the delete button on previous useless ID, but it isn't deleting. I even set my new ID as Primary. I don't get any emails on my new ID. Would you be still sending emails on my old inaccessible ID, after I made this change I made, that is told by Peter Sir? Or new one? Or I have to clarify this to you, to replace old one with new one?
