I am asked to submit a solution this week and I would like to submit an image with it. The reason is I won't be able to express what's going on in words and a image would make my explanation a lot easier.
I have seen images with the staff-submitted solutions so I think it's okay if we send images with the submitted solution.
Thanks!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

I agree. If it is not too much trouble,it would be great if brilliant had a more advanced interface for commenting and formatting text. One with image addition support, font adjustment and also adding links and editing code(as brilliant will soon incorporate computer science into its repertoire).

If improving the interface is not possible, the alternative way can be that the user upload their image on a image hosting website and paste the link in the solution.
Does that sound right to the Brilliant staff?

We do encourage people to use image hosting sites to include links in their solutions if that is what is easiest for them. We also encourage you to try using the markdown code as well.

Sorry for the late reply, I did not receive any e-mail notifying me of your comment.

Erm.. I think you can attach an image in your solution, using the Markdown code: Example

Nicely done!
Let me try...

Hahah very funny.
FYI, [alt text], e.g. alternative text, "allows the content and function of an image to be understood by text-only readers as well as google-like bots". More information here
ok.... whats that ..... [alt text] ...what does it do!?

For replacing the image if the image can't or not yet be loaded, for browser with text-only mode, for google bots to search images more effectively... You may just ignore it, though.
Sweet. Thanks!

what I think so is that, we should get points for the submitted question. If I submit a question and it is selected to be featured in any of the weekly sets question, then we should get no.−of−users−who−solve−it.level∗points−on−that−question∗100 points. For example if I submitted a question worth level 4 and of 200 points, and at the end of week 400 users solve it, then I should get 4004∗200∗100=200 points.
Please tell me what do you think about my idea.

Except if nobody is able to solve it(which I highly doubt!) or a very small number solves it, the person gets a huge number of points!

Its Exceptional.... Because I have found that even the toughest problems are solved by atleast 100-200 people. What I suppose that the maximum points that can be earned (by submitting questions) is 1000 points --> say I submit a question for level 5 , 300 points, and the minimum users who solve it is 150 --> and this very-very rarely going to happen --> because you know intelligence of people is increasing day-by-day and there's a huge traffic of most brilliant people (across the world) on brilliant.org

We do award points to those whose submitted problems are selected to be featured. See here.
